Over the years, there have been many calls to the planning and engineering community to share traffic data. Although there has been much interest, there has been little or no coordinated effort made to make this a reality. There have been a number of organizations who have taken the steps to make their data easily accessible to all, but little has been done to consolidate these into a place where available traffic data can be found in one place. The purpose of this Traffic Data Management System is to rectify this issue.

Traffic Data Management System’s initial development and idea generation was done by the ITE MET Section, HDR, Inc. and Miovision Technologies Inc. Traffic Data Management System is provided to the traffic community at no cost. Adding data to the site costs nothing and there are no hosting fees (one time, annual, or otherwise).

The success of this site depends on the sharing of data. Our hope is that with the participation of consultants along with government agencies, this site can be of great value to transportation planning and engineering professionals everywhere.
